Pūnāwai Rest Stop

The Pūnāwai Rest Stop is a hygiene facility operated by Mental Health Kokua (MHK), to provide individuals with access to hygiene, health, and social services. MHK reached out to UHCDC to develop designs for a controlled entry way to welcome people to the facility, but to also provide a safe space for staff to work. A second phase included the fabrication and installation of the new reception area.

Special thanks to: Plywood Hawaiʻi and Snake River Sawmill for their contributions to the success of the project.

Client: Mental Health Kokua
