EMS Headquarters Relocation Interior Study

The Honolulu Emergency Services Department contracted the University of Hawaiʻi Community Design Center (UHCDC) to develop interior and phasing studies due to the relocation of the HESD administrative offices from the Airport Industrial Park on Koapaka Street to the Blood Bank building on Dillingham Boulevard.

The project goals and objectives are:

• Engage staff through surveys and meetings to understand needs, gather feedback and incorporate user input into the design process.

• Establish an office planning framework prepared to respond to short and long-term departmental priorities.

• Explore design strategies to enhance staff wellness, safety, and performance through efficient work environments.

• Develop interior office layouts for the HESD relocation that reflect phased approaches.
