ARCH 342: Queen Liliʻuokalani Elementary School Site as Teacher Housing + Preschool

This studio course envisioned affordable rental housing options for teachers in combination with other uses on a prominent 2.67-acre urban site in Kaimukī. Site and program requirements were developed in collaboration with the newly created School Facilities Authority, which is exploring ways to potentially redevelop Department of Education properties. The former Queen Liliʻuokalani Elementary School site, currently used as office space, was conceptually redeveloped into multi-story residential units combined with office space or pre-K facilities.
